Hollywoods Top 10 Killers To Die For!

From cunning Eric Northman to creepy Hannibal Lecter, these TV and movie villains can sometimes make serial killer Dexter Morgan look like an angel. 10. Russell Edgington, True Blood (Denis OHare) Upon first glance, the now-former Vampire King of Mississippi appears polite and charming, but he has no problem stirring up trouble for Sookie and gang. Cold-blooded yet perennially prim & proper Edgington has done his fair share of killing. But even True Blood audiences who are used to copious amounts of violence and gore were shocked when the vampire ripped out a TV anchors spinal column on a live news segment. But have we seen the last of this mischievous vampire? (Hint: Nope!) Though he appeared to have been buried alive in Season 3, it appears hell be wreaking havoc in Bon Temps once again very soon. 9. Sweeney Todd, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (Johnny Depp) Johnny Depp is not afraid to tackle wacky and outlandish characters, which is why we love Depps haunting and eerie interpretation of Sweeney Toddy. This part is a far cry from some of his heartthrobby roles, but we still enjoy watching Depp as the crazed London barber with a penchant for singing and killing people. After all, whats not to love about a guy who gives new meaning to the phrase, Just a little off the top! 8. Vincent, Collateral (Tom Cruise) Its hard to imagine Tom Cruise in anything other than his stereotypical good guy action hero roles, but theres something about this deviation from the norm that had us on the edge of our seats while watching him terrorize the streets of Los Angeles as bad-to-the-bone hit man Vincent in Collateral. Whether its the villainous character or that salt and pepper hair, we like what we see and we want more anti-hero roles from Tom Cruise. 7. Catherine Trammell, Basic Instinct (Sharon Stone) The sole female to make the list! Watching Sharon Stone play a manipulative serial killer with her sights set on Nick, a police detective played by Michael Douglas, gave us chillsand an absurd phobia of ice picks. Then theres that murder interrogation scene, yes, the one in which a seated Stone, while claiming innocence, deliberately uncrosses her legs and reveals her mostpersuasiveargument. With hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube, this scene might be more infamous than her odd choice of murder weapon. 6. King Henry VIII, The Tudors (Jonathan Rhys Myers) Off with their heads! How many of Henry VIIIs six wives met their end via chopping block? We lost track sometime during Season 3. Any woman would have to be mad to marry a man knowing theyll most likely end up dead or divorced. Now if the real King had looked anything like the devilishly handsome Jonathan Rhys Myers, even we would be tempted to reconsider those odds. Fortunately for Henry, his royal status ensured he was never single for long. 5. Patrick Bateman, American Psycho (Christian Bale) Long before his real-life on-set temper made headlines, Christian Bale brought yuppie Wall Street banker Patrick Bateman to life in the thriller, American Psycho. Bateman hides behind a mask of sanity hes wealthy, dresses impeccably and is meticulous about every little detail of his daily routine which also includes seducing, raping and killing. The chaos might be difficult to bear at times, but when the wolf is dressed in this case in Armani suits we find any excuse to watch. Plus, if you werent a big fan of Phil Collins Sussudio, you certainly are now its truly a killer track! 4. Tony Soprano, The Sopranos (James Gandolfini) Leave TVs all-time favorite mob boss off the list? Fuggedaboutit! Even though Tony Soprano has only personally killed eight people, as the mob boss and head of the most powerful Italian-American family, he is indirectly responsible for the deaths of many others. Well have to dock a few points for that awful fade-to-black farewell, but dont tell Tony! 3. Hannibal Lecter, The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal (Anthony Hopkins) Why, hello Clarice With multiple film adaptations, generations of people still feel chills down their spine upon hearing those three little words uttered by Anthony Hopkins in his Academy Award winning performance as the flesh-eating serial killer Hannibal Lecter. Sir Anthony Hopkins brilliantly and creepishly brings the demonic Lecter to life and thanks to him, no one can ever eat fava beans the same way again! 2. Eric Northman, True Blood (Alexander Skarsgard) True Bloods resident bad boy Eric Northmans 1,000+ years on earth have left him incredibly cold, calculating and frankly one sexy badass. But this past season, we were intrigued to see a softer, more compassionate side of the Viking vampire hunk. Luckily, a little case of amnesia didnt stop this sexy Swede from stealing our hearts literally. In one memorable scene, Eric ripped out the heart of a witch sympathizer sidekick and slurped the blood straight from the aorta as one would a strawberry milkshake. Yum. 1. Dexter Morgan, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) And the title of Americas favorite serial killer still belongs to Miami Metros blood spatter analyst, Dexter Morgan. Surviving five seasons of slaughtering baddies under the very nose of the police, FBI and his closest friends and family? Awesome. But thats not the only reason why we love Dexter. Thanks to the brilliance of those lengthy internal monologues, we get to know the real Dexter from loving father to murderous Dark Passenger better than any character on the show. Hes a family guy, friendly and charming; but even though he kills people, we will be rooting for Dexter, the anti-hero, until the day he abolishes the code for good or until his own karma finally catches up with him.
